Candidate FAQ

Q:  I submitted my application for one of Harlan’s open positions.  When will I hear back from someone?

A:  After submitting your application, you should automatically receive a system-generated email to confirm that your application has been successfully added to our database.  If there is an interest in your skills, you will be contacted to discuss your application and the next steps in the process.

Q: How do I update my profile/resume in Harlan’s database?

A: Using the email address and password you created at the time you initially registered, simply log back in and click on “Update my Information” to make any updates you would like, including attaching an updated resume or cover letter.

Q: What if I don’t have an email address?

A: A valid email address is required in order to apply with Harlan Laboratories. You may easily obtain an email address at no cost by visiting www.yahoo.com, www.gmail.com, or www.hotmail.com. Simply click on “mail” on any of those three sites, and you will be prompted to create a new email account.

Q: I don’t remember my password. Help!

A: You can retrieve/reset your password by clicking the link just below the sign-in section, which says, “If you do not remember your password click here.”

Q: I applied for one position, but just saw another one which I am qualified for. Do I need to complete the application process again?

A: No – simply select the “Add to my Jobs” button at the bottom of the new position posting you are interested in. You’ll be prompted to either update any new information in your profile, or use the existing application information you’ve already provided.

Q: I’m no longer interested in the position for which I applied. How do I remove myself from consideration?

A: Once you are logged in, you can click the job for which you applied, and then click on the “Remove Me” button at the bottom of the posting. Your application will remain in database in accordance with our document retention policy.

Q: None of the jobs posted currently are a match for me, but there is one which my friend would be a great match for. How can I refer him/her?

A: At the bottom of the posting, click the “Send to a Friend” button. You’ll then be able to enter your friend’s email address and send the posting to him/her automatically.
